Media Creation Tool Version

Does anyone know if Microsoft updates what the Media Creation Tool downloads? Is the version of Windows I'm downloading have the latest updates already applied?

If you download the 1903 version of the tool then yes.

Not true. The MCT 1903 downloads the build 18362.30 not the actual 18362.145

OK I thought we were discussing 1809 vs 1903. Because each build release has its own Media Creation release.

Well if you want all the latest updates applied. I'm sorry I don't think you will get that. Do yourself a favor. Download the 1903 Build and then run Windows Update for a few minutes.

The Media Creation tool always downloads the latest stable version and build of Windows 10. Then, as Cliff suggests,download the updates

Something left out, the Media Creation Tool is specific to the Build version. If you want to move from 1809 to 1903, you have to download the new version of the Media Creation Tool. In some circumstances, this can be to your advantage if you needed to download a prior build version.

I wondered and tried. Seems you don't have much choice now. This was what I gotwwhen I opened the site.

Pursuing it further, it then started the process of installing 1903, which I had to stop.

Hi. The media creation tool always provides the latest stable version but I believe you may need to download the tool again to achieve that. My recent download installed 1903 and I then added a few updates

The latest MCT version appends the version number to the filename.
The MCT Build number is 18362.1, but will download the latest cumulative update as part of the build, i.e. 18362.175
The USB bug has not been fixed.

Only the MCT for Redstone 2 (1703), 3 (1709) and 4 (1803) are not working and shows the screen davehc mentioned.
The MCT's for 1507, 1511, 1607, 1809 and of course 1903 are working...
