For some reason, I cannot open any photos using the default photos app.
Also the calculator icon is missing from taskbar.
Adding to this many of the apps are greyed on the start page.
Ran sfc /scnnow also dism function which was 100% complete.
Yet still nothing has changed.

When I try to open any photo, message comes up saying the photo app is updating etc

None of the greyed apps icons on the start page will not start either.

Any clues whats going on.

The only program that has recently updated is iCloud for windows.

If I uninstall iCloud, will it effect my iCloud folders with my photos on the PC

Thanks

Probably the file association has gotten messed up, look in Start, Settings, Apps.

The Calculator is not by default on the Taskbar, if not there right-click it in the Start menu or the Tile and Pin to Taskbar.

I seldom use the Photos app so can't comment on it.

When apps tiles or icons are grayed it usually means the path to the executable file for the program is messed, may need reinstalling.

Since iCloud is from Apple things very probably will get messed up if uninstalled. If it can still be reached I'd Copy what I could to a different location.

Had to reset most of Microsoft apps and many not associated with photo's etc.

Having updated iClouds many times in the past without issues, now doubting if the latest update was the route of the problem.

So what else could cause so many apps needing a reset/repair in Apps.

Disc error checking, chkdsk, sfc, dism and re-signed my MS account.
Most apps ok, others were reset.
