Question?? What to do in windows 10 when logon password is lost/forgotten and F8 doesn't work. How does a person bring up safe mode?????

Anything you do other than boot to Install media will ask for a password, unless I have forgotten something.

Microsoft seems to have improved the security and has way to recover your password if you forgot it. I am not sure how it works but you might check if you can sign into your account and see if you are offered an option for password recovery.
