Lost user account

I just upgraded to windows 10 and only 1 user account was established (an old one I haven't been using). I can see the one I was actively using on my c drive under users, but I can't get W10 to recognize it. (Checked settings/users - can't see it there). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
