SOLVED Is there any way to stop Dism?

Since yesterday I've been having problems with Windows update. Troubleshooting gave me an error that database is corrupted. Quick Google search told me to do a DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth. This command was supposed to take up to 20 minutes but its been already 2 hours and it's been stuck at 97.7%. Hence my question, is there any safe way to stop it?

strangely enough, I had the same problem yesterday with one of my pc's, stalled at 96.8%, I closed the windows powershell, then opened & ran it again & it completed as normal
