Internet connection no longer automatic

I posted my problem before and thought it was solved but no longer working. Windows 10 when installed worked fine but since the recent updates my laptop no longer connects automatically to the internet although it is still set to do so. I cannot connect manually but have to use the troubleshoot button every time to connect, apart from twice 2 days ago. Each time the trouble shoot pronounces 'the ethernet 2 adaptor is not working properly. Problem with wireless adaptor or access point'.
Any suggestions put simply would be welcome.
