Installation stuck on "Wait a Minute" With Spinning Icon

I have installed a new m.2 drive in an HP Pavilion 14. All was going well until the restart and now it's stuck on "Wait a Minute" With a Spinning Icon.
The laptop has had beer spilled on it so I'm guessing this is responsible. The laptop continued to work for a week or so until the drive wasn't recognised anymore and appears to be dead when I tested it elsewhere.

Any suggestions or am I going to have to get the MB tested?

It has just failed completely. No power at all. I've tried removing the new M.2 Drive, the RAM, the Wireless card and the Battery one at a time but no luck.
Pretty sure it was the liquid spill that has taken a while to work into a component even though it has long since dried out at least visibly.
