Installation Issue with Battlefield 1942

I have been trying to reinstall an old favorite game Battlefield 1942 however the install is quickly interrupted with a error number 0x80010105 .... The server threw an exception. What can I do to get this game installed? Compatibility mode goes back to XP SP3 but still gets the same message.

well your on windows 10 well the bad news for you is that windows 10 no longer got safedisc or securom read this

if on win 8 or 10 please turn on the DirectPlay feature some older games use it

What about installing the game? I tried your patch but it won't install without a valid install directory. I can't get it to install at all.

Well in that case I can certainly help you but you will have to join up my twitch stream

because posting links like that here will most surely get me banned.

despite the game being over 20-years old and technically abandonedware
many websites don't feel confident with linking stuff like a full game installation too people who are looking for old games and that is understandable because they always want to be on the right side of the law.
Anyway a another advantage for me being on live on Twitch is that I'm able to help people instantly either live on twitch or in discord

I was wondering if you still had a active link for the CD1 Install of BF1942 because I think my CD1 is messed up. Also I downloaded the Patch, but normally you patch a game after install, I am getting Error Number 0x80010105 The server threw an exception. setup will now terminate.?? Thanks, if you have any suggestions.
