I have lost connection to the internet.

I had windows 10, free download, on 25 of August, upgrade from windows 8, and the internet connection was fine till about 10 days ago. Trouble shouting result.."Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration" . Contacted my provider Talktalk, was sent latest router, can connect with mobile wireless to router, can connect with laptop (Windows 7) hard wired, cannot connect with my desktop (hard wired) on which windows 10 is down loaded.
Was told by Talktalk that there is a problem with my computer. They cannot further help me.
Have checked cable to desktop by using cable with laptop.
What do I need to do to get connected to the internet with my desktop?

Try changing your encryption on your router which is likely WPA2 to WPA2 using TKIP instead of AES or WPA2 using AES instead of TKIP or you might have the option to use WPA with TKIP + AES, you can try that as well.
See if any of those changes have any effect on your connection.
