I cant see the password box!?

Hi! I'm having a really annoying problem. I cant see my login box. I switch on my laptop, scroll down, and there is no box to enter a password into!? On the page which tells the time there isn't a power button so I cant restart. There is only a battery and Wi-Fi one. Please help. I need to access my laptop!

Sometimes one has to just hit the Enter key or click the mouse to get the Log-in screen.
