How to turn off Powershell syntax highlighting

I work a lot inside the Powershell console. In Windows 7, I would right-click the frame, choose Properties, and set the screen and text colors that I liked.

When I try the same thing in Windows 10, it seems that there is some syntax highlighting going on. Or at least it's coloring words in a way that I don't like and can't change.

Does anyone know where I can turn this off?

Hi Rory,

Wow this is a very old thread - I am surprized no one ever replied.

Once you have opened Windows PowerShell or Windows PowerShell (Admin) simply:
  • Left-click the PowerShell icon in top left corner and select Properties > Color tab
