How to Stop OneDrive Auto-Sync and Keep Local Files

I've searched for solutions but haven't found one that fits my situation. OneDrive has started automatically syncing my Documents and other folders on my Windows 10 devices, causing issues. I want to stop this automatic syncing and ensure all my files remain local on "This PC" (C drive) only. I also want the option to manually move files to OneDrive when needed without losing the existing files already there.

Currently, I've quit OneDrive to prevent further problems. Can someone provide clear, simple steps to achieve this and prevent OneDrive from syncing automatically in the future? Thank you!

OneDrive operation confuses me too but I found 2 YT videos that helped me understand how it works. Maybe these will be helpful to you.
