SOLVED How to recover deleted files?

My old computer finally stopped working so I bought a refurbished second-hand Dell Optiplex 9010 but only one hard drive would fit (1 Tb C drive) so I removed the Dell cover to attach my old 1 Tb F drive so I could copy and paste to my C drive but I accidentally deleted a file with all the stuff I wanted to save. I tried to reinstall it right away, a message appeared saying ''We are working on it'' so I left the computer going all day but in the end, it didn't work. Any ideas or suggestions for this 70 y/o computer illiterate to get these files back are welcome. lol

Good on you mate, better late than never! I eventually used an app called Recuva to recover my files.

Just click the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop to begin. You may sort the files by name, location, date, and other criteria, just like in any other folder.
