How to make RUN remember its MRUs

Threads I founds about this on the web have not been useful for v1809 - except that I discovered a very relevant registry entry, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU, and am wondering if modifying this could achieve the desired result. If so WHAT modification ?
