How to copy folders with their customized icons

I suppose this old bug in Windows 10 is now fixed and I would like to install the fix on my computer. Can anyone walk us (me and others who may still have the same problem) through the solution?
Reminder: the bug that appeared last summer is that when copying folders with a customized icon, they revert to the plain standard yellowish icon.
