How to choose a clipboard history entry?

Whenever I press the Windows key+V to access my clipboard history in Windows 10, the list with multiple entries appears. However, when I try to select one of the entries, the entire box disappears. This issue hasn't occurred in the past, and even after restarting my computer, it persists. Are there any solutions to this problem?

Are you saying that clicking on an entry DOESN'T paste that entry where you want it? Because the box disappears for me too after I select an entry but the text is pasted where I left the cursor.
