How can I switch my default browser in Outlook 365?

i want to have all email links in Outlook 365 open in my preferred browser, be it Chrome or Firefox rather than Microsoft Edge.
while I've come across various suggestions online, none have proven to be the definitive solution yet, aside from uninstalling Microsoft Edge.
