SOLVED How can I open files direct from file explorer

Click on file generates an OPEN WITH window - eg an .xlsx file shows Excel as main option
If I check 'always open with this app' & then OK - nothing happens

Right click the start button and choose control panel and go here
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs
Choose Excel from the left column and down at the bottom click
Set this program as default.
See if that resolves your .xlsx problem

Thanks - I have now tried this - unfortunately it has made no difference
Even tried - Choose default programmes -select all etc.

NOW SOLVED - I did a quick repair via control panel/programs & features/Office 365 Business/Change/Quick Repair
