Hiding a FOLDER using "HIDDEN" under Folder Properties

I wanted to "hide" a folder temporialy while someone used my LT and as was advised to use the "hidden" check box in "Proprieties", tried it, tested it and it seem to work fine .
It was named "OTHERS" and showed 'empty'. Today I when folder Main folder, there was no "OTHERS" Folder listed.
Not sure what I did wrong but is that Sub Folder gone forever? Along with a several terabytes of space?

then your hidden folder should appear again and you can unhide it
