Get rid of Activate Windows message

I use Windows 10. I got this message on the right down corner side of the desktop. How to get rid of it?

Well, is Windows activated on your PC ? Setting will show you.

Do you sign on with a MS account?

I use hotmail. I assume this is what signing with the MS. It is today it appeared that is why I asked.

I meant signing in to your PC when you boot or have you turned that off and are using a local account.

Either way settings - update and security - activation will tell you.

This is a PC in home therefore there is no sign in activity when booting.

Did you check for activation?

I do not know which activation it means. Do you have any idea?

Just type the word activation into the search box. You will get a dialog box that tells you if the PC is activated.


For a Windows 10 machine to be activated it has to have a legal licence registered with Microsoft.
There are several ways of doing this.


I believe a non-activated Windows 10 machine will run for a few weeks then pop up notifications for a while and then will stop working.
