Fresh install of Windows doesn't work

Basically, my OS is currently on a 256GB SATA SSD. I purchased a new 1TB SATA SSD that I'd like to use as my boot drive now.
No matter what I do or what tutorials I follow, I cannot get it to work.
Here's what I've done:

I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO file from the Media Creation Tool and transferred it to a USB drive using Rufus. The first time I tried this, I got the error message: "ERROR: BIOS/LEGACY BOOT OF UEFI-ONLY MEDIA." So, I went back to Rufus, changed the settings to MBR and BIOS (Uefi_com), and tried again. This time, I got a "No Operating System Found" error.

The closest I got to making it work was when I used the Media Creation Tool to create the boot drive. I managed to reach the Windows install screen, selected my new SSD for the OS installation, but halfway through, it told me there were missing files and couldn't complete the installation.

I'm not looking to clone my old SSD; I just want a fresh install on my new one. Every time I tried to boot up, I disconnected all old drives, leaving only the USB and my new SSD connected.

I've been trying this for the last 9 hours and I'm on the verge of giving up. If anyone has any tips, they would be greatly appreciated.

What I do is use the MCT process to create the bootable USB drive of 8GB, 16GB or 32GB [Windows has a limit of 32GB FAT32 partition size] and either boot to that for a new/clean install or run the setup.exe on it from within File Explorer. Have never had to use third-party software for install in Win10 or Win11. It is possible to run the setup.exe from the downloaded .iso file when Mounted in File Explorer if one doesn't want to use the the .iso to burn a DVD+R/DL disc to create the bootable install.
