Hi Bastet,

you should also advise people to scan whatever package they download with an AV scanner before installing it, also, people should read up on "Free" software before installing, most packages of this type are bundled with other apps that also install and can cause major problems for the user. ;)

I forgot to mention that there are several well known websites out there that are famous for bundling Malware ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malware ) in their "Free" downloads, it pays to Google the name of the website before you do any downloads from a particular website for that just in case scenario. :):):)

Some will tell you that they have a good Anti-Virus app but what they don't tell you is that once they have found a virus, you will have to pay them to have it removed (most likely they placed the Malware in the first place!).:mad::mad:

Correct. FWIW, this is one I was directed to in the past. I haven't had any problems with it, but, I have tried very little from it, but did once get the entire Ashampoo suite of programs for nothing.- I still use them.

Yes I’m receiving the latest offers from the site, nothing of interest.
I’ll give it a few weeks to see if there’s anything then unsubscribe.

I did have something peculiar after installing the free HD sentinel, checking under MB there was several entries in the log concerning outgoing connections being blocked - all the same time I first ran the program, saying it was a virus.
All scans before installing showed nothing, all scans since shows clean.
The paid version has had no entries listed.

I prefer to use https://www.giveaway-club.com/
I’ve been able to find some pretty good software there for free. And I do like how their support works, they are always ready to help and that’s important to me.
Never gotten any malware or annoying ads from this site so I can vouch for them.
