Chromium Edge is not compatible with Quicken, or Quicken is not compatible with Chromium Edge. I have repeatedly complained to Microsoft and Quicken that Quicken takes over entire screen when a split-screen arrangement uses Quicken and Edge. The problem does not exist with Internet Explorer. However, Internet Explorer is being phased out, and some websites are yelling at me to change to Chromium Edge or Chrome. Microsoft told me they fixed the problem a while ago, but they were mistaken. Quicken doesn't seem to get it. I've posted the problem several times in this forum to no avail. So, maybe there's something special about my computer, which is currently running Windows 10 Pro, Version 2004. Or, maybe nobody else operates their computer as I do. I use the Tablet mode and suspect most people use the desktop mode because they are still in love with Windows 7.

Same problem. Sorry, I meant to state that. Still, it doesn't matter if Chrome works for everything. Internet Explorer still doesn't have the problem and is my work-around solution. However, as stated, one or two websites are warning they're not supporting Internet Explorer anymore or won't be. Sometime before Chromium Edge was released, Microsoft told me the problem had been fixed, but it hasn't.

After using Window 8 for a couple of weeks I have never tried tablet mode. Nothing to do with 'loving' any version of Windows.

Good for you! I used all versions of Windows 8 years ago and recall the many complaints, especially about the Tablet mode or whatever it was called. I also seem to recall Microsoft rather quickly developed Windows 10 to silence all the unhappiness with all versions of Windows 8. My recollection is the vast number of Windows 7 users liked it, and, when they did switch to Windows 10 they tended to use the desktop mode because it had some similarity to Windows 7. Even many Microsoft techs I've talked with about problems with Windows 10 immediately switch my setup to the Desktop mode to do their troubleshooting. Anyway, perhaps one day you'll switch to Windows 10. If so, you may one day understand the Quicken/Edge issue I've raised many times. Till then, please enjoy using the Desktop mode of the ancient and ill-fated Windows 8 (any version).

Quicken almost NEVER works with MS products that are still in development. You'll need to wait until it's released into production.
So I suggest you wait until a newer version of Chromium edge is released.

Or use Mozilla Firefox to cut the issues that you faced on Chromium Edge.

After being in development for a while, it's my recollection the Chromium version of Edge was released many months ago. Because the Windows Version 2004 Update wouldn't install on my Windows 10 Pro desktop computer, a Microsoft tech installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro on that computer. The 2004 Update installed without problems on my Windows 10 (not Pro) laptop. I've heard the story about Quicken almost never working with Microsoft products still in development. Well, so far as I know, Chromium Edge is not still in development -- it's released. The waiting for a "newer version of Chromium Edge is over.

My intent is solving the Chromium Edge/Quicken problem -- not dumping Edge for another product that may or may not work. In my opinion, that should be Microsoft's intent also, but they seem to have their head where the sun never shines. As i stated elsewhere, Microsoft some time ago claimed they were aware of the problem and later stated the problem was fixed. However, the problem hasn't been fixed, and Microsoft has gone silent.
