Whoops... another possible issue when using FileHistory to recover files.
Using Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit O/S
I'm in the process of getting new HDD for my laptop, the old one has disk errors. I.m concerned
about a 'point in time' issue. I'm unable to test this but I may have to do it in real time...I've read a few
articles on the web but I'm not sure if they model my situation.
1. last sys. image copy - MAR 2020 >> written to an external HD
2. last FileHistory file backup - JAN 2021 >> written to an external HD
3. HDD errors - later in JAN 2021
4. pending -- HDD replacement and sys. restore to Mar 2020
Q. will the FileHistory backups taken 2021 AFTER the restore point 2020 be recognized by FileHistory
and enable me to select files to recover ?
Anyone experienced this type of situation and if so, any tips / suggestions for me ??
thanks
