Greetings,
I have an IBM ThinkPad R50e presently running Windows 7, build 7601. It meets Windows 10 system requirements; 2Gb RAM, 1.4 GHz CPU, 67Gb of which 47Gb disk is available, and Directx 11. Microsoft's system verification application reports it will run W10.
However, W10 installation proceeds with no apparent problems, until reboot. The W10 logo appears and the systems freezes - only a forced power off will get it out of that state. The next reboot starts W7, and then reports W10 failed with error 0xC1900101-0x20017, and the message 'failure occurred in the SAFE_OD phase with error during boot operation.' Then the system is 100% consumed with W10 trying to install again.
How can I get W10 to properly install or get W7 to never entertain an upgrade?
Thank you,,
Larry S
