External Software unable to launch Outlook to send email

The latest update installed on our computers at work. Now external software such as Excel, Adobe Pro, Snip it, etc will not launch Outlook to send emails. Outlook is still set as the default program. What else can we try?

The latest update installed on our computers at work. Now external software such as Excel, Adobe Pro, Snip it, etc will not launch Outlook to send emails. Outlook is still set as the default program. What else can we try?

I've also been struggling with Outlook today (couldn't make it set as default and couldn't send scans/PDF to e-mail recipients.) I was advised to install 'Thunderbird' to manage my e-mail. Kept same e-mail address and now have control again.
