Hello, welcome to the forum. IE is not my browser so I have no clue to your problems solution but this post will bump you to the top of the list. It was quite extensive today.

Open File Explorer
Select the View tab
Click the Options ICON, far right side of ribbon
Click change folder and search options
Select the View tab
Check the first box in the Advance settings area that says "Always show icons, never thumbnails"
Click OK
Reboot
See if that helps.
