Epson dot matrix not working after Jan 2018 Windows 10 update

I see where some people's Epson dot matrix printers had problems with the November updates, but mine just started having problems this week. I'm not sure if it was the updates on 12/22, 12/23, or 1/4/18. My office was closed for two weeks and this is the first time I've tried using the printer since Dec. 21st.

I've checked all connections, and it's still showing as offline. I know the November problem was not due to a driver issue, so I'm hesitant to uninstall and reinstall the printer. Any suggestions? The model number is an LQ-590.

This is my check printer, and I have about 60 checks that need to be issued as soon as possible. My arthritis will not be happy if I have to handwrite these things.

I wonder is there's something special with the Win10 S version since the list omits any mention of Win7 and Win8/8.1.
