Email not working since download of windows 10

hello..I am not computer smart at all so I am completely stumped as to what to do about my email not working since windows was downloaded on Thursday, There was nothing wrong with my email on Wednesday. The screen keeps telling me it's 'syncing'; it's been syncing since Thursday night. Email on my tablet is working. Any suggestions?

Hi Sheelagh, which email software are you using? Is it Microsoft Outlook, the built-in "Mail" application or something else?
