Edge in windows 10

Hello All,
On reading my yahoo mail I noticed in Edge that there is a section in smart views for Unread mail thinking that it would be recent mail I clicked on it and was surprised to notice that there was mail there from 2012. So it got me wondering and not for the first time - How long do they actually keep it? and in this case is it the edge browser - which didn't exist - or yahoo mail itself? How is Edge getting a hold of it and what else do they have access to? Rab

Most cloud based email programs will keep mail, based on your settings (leave on server x## of days), or until you run out of room or until you go in there and manually clean things out / right click empty folders.
