SOLVED DVD player will not play videos, displays text OK

Hello, since updating my Hewlett Packard 700-060envy desktop my HP DH16AC-SHR player will not play any video content. It displays text material OK, just NO video content. The device worked fine until installing WIN10 update 1511-10586.71.
Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 10 does not natively provide a means of playing commercial DVD movies as there are no codecs included by default.
Many people have found that they need a third party player
I recommend VLC Player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Other people have suggested that they also like Daum's PotPlayer http://daumpotplayer.com/

Did you go with the 32 or 64 bit VLC? I found the 64 bit a little glitchy. And Windows can't verify its certificate which leads to other problems in playback.
