Drag and drop not working after update(s)

I have an ASUS VivoBook Max F541N running Win 10 64 bit. After the major update in November 2019 (sorry did not make a note of detail), the click and drag function ceased functioning. I got it working again courtesy of a fix posted on Microsoft Community by one of your Microsoft MVP's which was typing SYSDM.CPL in Run and various other steps.
Unfortunately the next update once again stopped Drag and Drop working. The previous fix was not effective.
I would really appreciate a permanent fix.

try an upgrade to version 2004 and see if that fixes the problem!.

Hi Wolfie, thanks for your response. Version 2004 was already installed so I'm still stuck with the problem. Will try to get some help from Asus if possible.
