Displays turn off after 5 although set to NEVER

Windows 10 Home 64-bit Toshiba Satellite S855

I've modified my power settings to NEVER turn off displays and NEVER put the system to sleep/hibernate.

Nevertheless, after 5 minutes of inaction, displays go dark.

I haven't tested the sleep/hibernate part yet.

This is quite frustrating. Any ideas/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Any chance your screensaver option has been enabled ?

In the search box next to Start button, type screensaver > top left, click Change screen saver > under Screen saver , does the box say (Never) ?
If not, click the pointer and change it > OK when done.

The screensaver was set to "none"// so, I did choose a screensaver and then I went back to None and then clicked Apply and am waiting to see what happens... maybe it's going to work in the usual mysterious ways of Windows.... (agrrrrrr) May thanks -- never thought of the screensaver possibility....
