Did I just lose all my files

I don't know what happened came home one night and my computer couldn't load windows error 0x80004005 tried to repair and keep files but it failed, so I tried backup my files on to a external hard drive I bought but it tried to install Windows on another drive f: was c: before there is no files on f: drive so did i just lose everything? :(

HI Mac,

open file explorer and go to "My PC", there should be a list of your drives there, if you had C: before and you created F:, you should see both entries there!. :)
