desktop icon management

Suddenly have several desktop icons that don't work and can't be moved or removed. There are others that function as they should. Have found no articles addressing this. Note, when right clicking them a drop down menu like right clicking anywhere on the desktop appears rather than the one normally found with icons. Thanks for any suggestions.

If they are still there after rebooting the computer try right-clicking the desktop/screen and Refresh. If that doesn't work try right-click and View, try the different settings.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried all that and did it again after your post. No change.
