Hi there, please help. My Dell Latitude E6400 is making a crackling sound whenever I play music. This started after I removed the battery and then put it back in. Could it be that the BIOS setup was corrupted or incomplete? What should I do?
I have an E6410, just did a clean install of Win10 on it. Haven't encountered any issue yet. Removal of the main battery shouldn't affect the BIOS, it is stored on the CMOS chip which is maintained by a separate battery, usually a CR-2032 or maybe an encapsulated battery. It could be corrupted sound drivers, might uninstall in Device Manager and reboot, usually automatically reinstalls.
