Yes, I was able to copy and paste the pictures onto the desktop, but I normally just use the the prompt to download the pictures directly to "Pictures" which is very handy.

I am replying to my own post because I stumbled on the solution to my problem. I went to the control panel, chose Recovery, then Open System Restore, then check "Show more system restore points", and choose the date prior to the problem happening and restore it to that date. It will not affect your documents, pictures, etc. It will affect any changes to your computer that you made since then such as updates, but should fix the problem with the store not launching. It worked for me and hopefully it will help someone else. Thanks to all who tried to help me.
