Defender hang

I have run a program called Double Cad for several years on XP and Win7 without problem.
However with Win 10 I enjoy a 1 or 1 1/2 minute hang when opening Double Cad.
Using Task Manager I see that the CP hangs with ANTIMALWARE SERVICE EXECUTABLE using 90-95% of CP time.
Eventually it ceases and Double Cad moves on with no apparent problems..
But after several weeks of this .I am ropeable.
I have no idea what this is or how to dodge it or prevent it.
I will appreciate any advice

IF you believe that the issue has something to do with "Defender" and its' handling of "Double Cad".......
Have you considered opening "Defender" and using the "Settings" menu to add an "Exclusion" to .....
Exclude a "file", "folder" or perhaps a "process".

Thanks NOOB etc. Did not know about exclusions. Now I do . So I tried excluding several items of DCad without succes until I decided to disable defender when opening Dc.d. And it works just fine. A quick clean opening. And if I activate Defender after opening Dcad all still works just fine. So until I decide to pursue the problem furthe I will stay as is. Thanks again to Noob and the facility orovided by WINDOWS 10 FORUMS.
