Crucial access denied - Folder reverts to READ ONLY despite many "solutions."

Hello,

Under Win 10 22H2, we keep having a maddening problem. It's maddening because suggested solutions seem to work, but only for a while, then the difficulty reappears:

A file crucial to the operation of our small network, keeps reverting to Read Only. I have searched, and experimented until my fingers are bleeding, but with no lasting luck.

Might there be an actual solution out there that someone might share?

Hi again,

I came upon a suggestion that was offered essentially as an "If all else fails, try this bombproof fix."

I logged in as an administrator, and entered at a command prompt:

attrib -s -h -r "E:\Paradox\NETFILES\*.*" /s /d

That entry brought me back to the command prompt (that is, it was accepted) but after a reboot, it seems to have failed. The folder is again, Read Only.
