Can someone test this for me.
I am using Edge a little more than previously. I don't have any idea how long this has been a bug, but, I find that I cannot copy and paste in Edge, between posts.
For example, If I wish to extract a portion of someone else's post, and paste it into my post in order to comment, I find it is not working.
fwiw. It's fine in IE.
The same situation on other sites, so it is NOT a site bug.

Above using Edge browser (which I never use).
Select text and used the pop up reply site feature
AND
Select text and used Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V
AND
Select with the appropriate right click options of Copy and Paste

Seems to be working for me

"Select with the appropriate right"
Well! I'll be darned!
I only noticed this yesterday. Tried it again today (after the laptop has been off) and it ws still there.
Now I have just read your post, and it is working OK .

Sorry. That was all a waste of words.
I had accidentally logged on with IE.
Nothing has changed in Edge - But using the feature mentioned by Trouble, (using the popup) does work.
I had never noticed that option before..
Still a mystery though, as to why I cannot do the good old Ctrl C method. I thought it might be a conflict with an edge shortcut, but, if Trouble says it works for him....?

Just been browsing. It seems that this is a common problem, although some users do not appear to be experiencing it.
I even found an old post in this site, referring to it (answers from Trouble and regedit). A couple of suggestions from Regedit which, unfortunately, do not seem to have worked.
I can live with the drop down menu method - no probs.

I copied & pasted you post using Firefox.
Notice, I didn't "reply" it.

The problem has been solved in the latest insider build so, hopefully, in the official release.

The problem returned. On examination, I found that the easiest way was to outline the text you need to copy and paste, and drag it with the LEFT button. Dumb, but it works.

Frustration led me into googling the problem.
For anyone interested, this worked for me

This is not a long process, but must be followed right through.
Right click the start icon and select Command prompt (Admin)
Now.
Type in at the prompt OR Copy and Paste these one at a time : (Hit enter after each)
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Also run the System File Checker utility:
Open Start, type: CMD
Right click CMD
Click Run as administrator
At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

Glad to hear that you finally got it sorted.
I know how it is when a problem gets under your skin and you have to keep at it.
