I have been using Windows 10 successfully for sometime. However since recent update my laptop no longer automatically connects to the internet. It is still switched on to automatic connection. Every time I switch on I have to run the troubleshooter, I cannot connect manually. Each time it says the ethernet 2 adaptor is not working properly. Problem with wireless adaptor or access point.
I have run through Microsoft solving suggestions and checked I have the latest device. i am not technical and balked at the suggestion to remove and then reinstall a device. Any suggestions please?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Chances are you are experiencing what a lot of people are.

Hopefully, sooner or later, Microsoft will produce something to fix some of these problems that seem to have been produced by the latest Cumulative Update.
I just wish that they would get out in front of this and issue some type of statement that they are aware of the problem and working on a fix.
It'd be nice to see something in the Feedback Hub regarding this issue on the Release Build rather than more of the same regarding Insider Build announcements.

Thanks for that. It now looks like the problem has been solved. I have switched on twice today and connection was automatic. Not completely happy yet as it didn't work on the first attempt. fingers crossed!

Seems to be some correlation to fast start-up.
Microsoft has posted a note suggesting a restart (warm boot), rather than a shut down and restart (cold boot).
My Grand Daughter called last night, in a tizzy about some test coming up and how her new laptop would not connect to wireless.
I told her to try the reboot and see if that worked and it did.
I told her,. if she had any further problem, use the reboot method and if that didn't help, we would research further into disabling fast start-up and see what that did.
So far I haven't heard back.

I thought my internet connection was solved but only worked twice and now back to having to connect everytime by using the trouble shoot button.
