Excuse me if this has already been covered, but it recently happened to me, the date and clock went away on the task bar.

I updated from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 home user. This is what shows with a Belarc scan.

Operating System System Model
Windows 8.1 (x64) (build 9600)
Install Language: English (United States)
System Locale: English (United States)
Installed: 8/13/2015 7:19:00 PM
Boot Mode: BIOS (Secure Boot not supported)

I would like to get the date and time back on my task bar.

Thanking you in advance for any help, Roger

P.S. Pulling the task bar wider does not reveal the date and time.

Right click at an open spot of your taskbar > click Properties > click Customize > right side at the top, click Turn system icons On or Off > is the Clock On or Off ?

If for some unknown reasons the above method does not work , use this tutorial:
It is applicable to Win 10.
I had used it once to restore my Sound icon on my Win 10 before I knew more the new OS.

Use Option Two. ( easiest )
select #3
and follow the steps from #11 to 15.

David thank you for your input, the clock was set to 'on'. I do not see a link to the tutorial you mentioned.

And Davehc, thanks for the tip on Belarc.

Sorry, I did it again.
Here is the link.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19085-system-icons-enable-disable.html

Use Option Two
3. To Enable the Clock Icon

Then run the steps #11 to 15..........................

11. Save the .reg file to your Desktop.

12. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

13. Click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK when prompted.

14. Log off and log on, or restart the computer to fully apply.

15. When done, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.

For your clock. Have a look here. Settings - Time and Language
Just have a run through and make sure you have everything set correctly there. You may have missed an item, which has confused the setting.

I finally found my date and clock. I have two monitors on my video card, but I normally only use one.

The date/clock was on the screen I normally do not use, the right one.
