On the left side of the Apps & Features dialog select Default apps
Scroll to the bottom of the Default apps dialog and click on Choose default applications by file type
The Default applications by file type dialog will take a few seconds to populate. After is has populated, scroll down to .jpg and see which application is to the right of it [ the default is Photos ]. If you would prefer to open it in a different application then left-click on the application to the right of .jpg then select the application you wish to use.
Repeat this with both .jpeg and .jpe file type as well.
