When I turn on my laptop from hibernate or sleep the brightness is at maximum and I can't lower it.
I have a temporary fix, by going to device manager then disabling the intel display driver then enabling it again, this allows me to control the brightness. When I hibernate or put my laptop to sleep and turn it on again, I have to redo the above mentioned instructions. I need a solution please, thank you.
Lenovo w541
Intel(R)HD Graphics 4600
NVIDIA Quadro K1100M
And both drivers are updated.

Most top tier GPU drivers provide a Control Panel applet for setting things like brightness and contrast.

My nVidia driver applet. I assume that AMD as well as Intel provide something similar, although I don't know for sure.
