Last month or so I have tried to get windows 10 to manually update, but get the following message:

"There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3124266) - Error 0x800703f1

Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3133431) - Error 0x800703f1

Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3106932) - Error 0x800703f1"

I have searched on google and can not find a solution to my update problem. Any ideas???

Try getting it directly from here
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3124262
use Internet Explorer. The site doesn't seem to like some other browsers.
Likewise the Flash Player update
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3133431
Be sure to get the correct version for your system architecture (32 or 64 bit).
Reboot and then manually check for Windows updates again
Got to the pages and added updates to basket but don't see a download button or whatever I need to get the updates on my computer?

Should be an icon at the top right "Go to basket" or something like that and from there you should see a download option

Got the updates to download (can't believe I missed that so many times, but...). Tried to run them (6) but got a message that they didn't apply to my computer. I noticed on some of them: "for Windows 10 Version 1511". Not sure if I have 1511??? Looked up my OS version and it is 10.0.1240. Noticed, on the internet, the number 1511 associated with Win10, but not sure how/what/why...

Just went to that update site and found version 1511 update. Think I should make a system image and backup the data files before I try to run 1511 update?

Ahhhh.
That might be an issue. You may want to first do an inplace upgrade to 1511 / 10586.
Go here and get the ISO
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench
Once you have the ISO, you can use ImgBurn to burn it to a DVD or Rufus to burn it to a USB ThumbDrive, either of which you can use to perform the in-place upgrade by simply double clicking setup.exe from the media you've created, or......
You can simply double click the ISO from within your current version of Windows 10, which will mount the ISO and create a virtual optical drive from which you can also simply double click setup.exe.
This is a relatively simple and straight forward task and is generally non-destructive (all your data, programs, drivers, etc., should remain intact and unharmed), but.....
Personally I would still have a backup of my critical data, as well as a disk image, so I could recover in the event of some unforeseen problem.
