Cannot type my password - cursor works

I have read numerous posts about after an update not being able to type in your password on the main screen. Cursor works . Have tried restarting based on numerous suggestions but that does not work either.

Suggestions. Windows 10 on a HP laptop

Hi Dawnarising,

have you tried the "Ease of Access" button in the lower-right corner of the sign-in screen, and then select On-Screen Keyboard. Try that and see if it works, if it does, run troubleshoot and/or change your password!.
