Cannot enter password windows 10

I cannot log into my computer. I get turn on my PC and am instantly sent to the login page, my cursor is free and works, however, when I click on the password input box and try to enter my password, when I type the dots appear for milliseconds and then disappear, meaning I cannot enter my password.
I cannot perform a system restore as I cannot enter my password.
It is not an issue with my keyboard, as I have used 2 different keyboards and the on-screen keyboard.
It is a custom built PC, if that makes a difference.
I have made no recent software changes other than a Java install.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
When you tried the On Screen Keyboard, did you make sure that the other keyboards and any associated wireless dongles were disconnected?

Thanks. And yes I did disconnect the other keyboards before using the on screen one

You might want to try booting from the installation media and attempting a System Restore from Repair your PC link -> Troubleshooting -> Advanced Options.

It asks me for my password, which I cannot input due to the issue so I can't do a system restore/reset
