Camcorder not recognized

I have a Logitec webcam that I use with Skype. I would like to replace it with a Sony Handycam but Win 10 does not
recognize it. Using "Add a device" does not help. The device manager lists something called "unknown device". Updating
driver for this device does not help. Nothing is listed under USB. Microsoft tells me the driver is already on the system.
Any suggestions?

How did you update the driver? Did you let Microsoft search for an updated driver? Or did you go to Sony's site and download the driver?
