Calendars not Syncing

I use Windows Live Mail (WLM) to save and update my calendar (stored locally on my hard drive). After the decision by MS to stop syncing calendars to my Microsoft Live account from WLM (which I have read about on other Forums), I can no longer update my Live calendar or my Win 10 Calendar App (or therefore my Ipad and Windows Phone calendars). And the Live calendar won't import my edb file from my hard disk, only a .ICS file. Can anybody suggest how to do this - preferably in a fairly simple process, as I may have to repeat it frequently!)? It's really annoying!
