As of July 24th, build 10240 is required to run the new Windows 10 Store

The Windows 10 Store team has been making some great fixes and improvements to reliability and performance. To ensure you are able to benefit from these important updates, starting July 24 we will be requiring Insiders who are not running the latest Windows 10 operating system to upgrade their PC; otherwise those affected will be unable to experience the Windows 10 Store. Check Windows Update to make sure you have installed the latest build and the most recent updates.

So, those who are unable to activate build 10240 will be SOL. ?

There are some strong indications that MS are tying up some lose ends now. I received an Email regarding the above, referring to a couple of small items I use in the store. As an (unimportant) example, for those users who like to pass the time on some of the card games, the MS solitaire collection has finally been updated. You are automatically taken through a few hoops, to integrate with Xbox games. Old data is loaded and all is now working with achievements, etc..

Well this is mis-information again...

I was running w10 Enterprise had activation issues, removed back to w10 Pro Insider Preview v10240 with all the available updates possible and Store still refused to load, all I got was same error screen, eventually got tired of not being able to access this I reverted back to w8.1 Pro and will wait for w10 RTM release.

Switching to Pro version does not solving the issue unless it can be and is activated.
If it is not activated, Store won't open.
The article posted only said users need 10240 to use the Store. It does not say it will guarantee the Store will open because one has build 10240.
If the Store cannot be opened, it can be due to many reasons, one of which can be corrupt files.

There is no "misinformation".
Find out "why" because throw in the verdicts.

I personally cannot understand how anyone would want to run "windows store" anyway. Nothing of any value in there whatsoever.(unless, for some inexplicable reason one actually likes the metro apps....)

Oh gosh! You mean I can't shop in the store? How devastating! I read somewhere that the whole thought process behind metro apps was to monetize windows 10. Makes sense to me. After all isn't the internet all about hustling a buck?
